Pearler Portfolio Rebalance

Investing Strategy

Hi, I'm wondering when is the best time to do a portfolio rebalance? I have recently started investing on Pearler and I noticed all of my most recent investment went straight into A200 which currently takes up 35% of my allocation however I thought it would be evenly distributed or at least some would go into my VEU allocation as it makes up 25% and its currently cheaper than A200? Thanks!

Hi James. Someone from Pearler will likely be able to answer this more specifically and usefully than me… but basically, I believe you can setup your Autoinvest (Automate) in different ways so you can either go by target weight, or evenly distributed, or by lowest performance.

So you may want to check how it’s currently setup on the Automate page and see if another option may suit you better. Alternatively, you could just invest manually if you’d like ultimate control each month over where your cash ends up being invested.

All the best!

Hi James thanks for reaching out and happy to help,

With Autoinvest, you can think of the % targets set for your shares as the goal that Autoinvest will aim to achieve for your portfolio. Therefore with every round, Autoinvest will make a fresh calculation as to which investments need to be made to best reach these goals. If the rebalance strategy is selected, it will calculate based on shares you already own, which ones need topping up to reach those % targets.
As you have selected Lowest share strategy (single below weight) at the time of Auto invest it will invest in the one asset that is the lowest weighted share (furthest away from its target %) in your pool of assets. This allows you to balance your portfolio over the long term without the need to buy multiple shares.
If you would like the rebalance option for Autoinvestment Allocation strategy you will need to make the changes by heading to Automate on your Pearler account and clicking the green arrow to edit the allocation strategy
