The Company’s product candidate is Pegtarviliase, a novel polyethylene glycol modified (PEGylated), human enzyme engineered to reduce elevated levels of total homocysteine circulating in the plasma. It has engineered pegtarviliase by directed mutagenesis of amino acids within the wild-type human cystathionine y-lyase enzyme (CGL). The Company’s second product candidate Pegzilarginase is a PEGylated, recombinant human arginase 1 that enzymatically degrades the amino acid arginine to lower arginine levels in patients with Arginase 1 Deficiency. It has engineered pegzilarginase with modifications that enhance the stability and arginine-degrading activity of the enzyme in human plasma. The Company is evaluating Pegzilarginase in a global pivotal Phase III pivotal PEACE trial and Phase I/II open-label extension trial.
