The Company’s initial product candidate is epetraborole, a once-daily, oral treatment for patients with non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease, a rare, chronic and progressive infectious disease caused by bacteria, mycobacteria. Epetraborole has antimycobacterial activity through the inhibition of an essential and universal step in bacterial protein synthesis. Its mechanism of action is enabled by boron chemistry, which is the Company’s core technology approach. Epetraborole is under development in a pivotal Phase II/III clinical trial as a once-daily, oral treatment for patients with NTM lung disease with an initial focus on treatment-refractory Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) lung disease.
