BlackRock Enhanced International Dividend Trust is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Trust’s primary investment objective is to seek current income and current gains, with a secondary objective of long-term capital appreciation. The Trust seeks to achieve its objectives by investing primarily in equity securities issued by companies of any market capitalization located in countries throughout the world and utilizing an option writing strategy to enhance current gains. It invests approximately 80% of its net assets in dividend-paying equity securities issued by non-United States companies of any market capitalization. The Trust also invests up to 20% of its total assets in equity securities of issuers located in the United States. It also invests up to 50% of its total assets in equity securities of issuers located in emerging market countries. Its investment adviser is BlackRock Advisors, LLC.
