Currently i receive cash payments for the dividends i receive into my bank account. How do i change this so that the dividend paid actually purchases more shares in the company rather than receiving the cash.

Coming from a family where everyone always said pay off your mortgage asap and be debt free. It is hard to change my mindset to accept the interest for 30 years while I am investing. My question is. If I am able to pay off my mortgage relatively quickly (8-10 years). Should I pay that off then invest heavily everything once I am debt free? I guess the current rising interest and worldwide uncertainty is pointing me to pay off mortgage at the moment. Too short sighted?

I invest $250 a week into the S&P500. Im 46 and plan on investing for the next 15 years. Is this ok ? Or should I be investing in Australian shares ? Any ideas would be great. Thanks. It’s just for an extra boost for retirement.

Hi, i am currently investing into betashares DZZF etf. I wanted high growth diversified ESG etf and i believe dzzf was/is the only option today. This etf looks good to me but the AUM under the etf is just around $40M. Is this a concern for long term investment and any risk of it getting closed prematurely in future? ETFs underlying dzzf are FAIR, ETHI and GBND. FAIR and ETHI themselves have AUM over $1.2B and $2B respectively.

Bit of a odd question here but, I’m in a fairly new relationship (just ticked over six months together) and the topic of finance and investing has come up a few times. I want to gently encourage her to begin regular investing, we set up her Pearler account (yet to engage auto invest *sigh*) and I’m not sure when the best time to talk about *my* portfolio is. I set up my investing for a long time frame, but have been thinking about using some of my shares to buy (and pay off) a small acreage with the idea of that’s where I’d like to settle down and raise kids. I met her maybe six months after ‘FIRE-ing’ and have told her I vaguely have an online blogging business that I work on every now and then, and she enjoys the more relaxed lifestyle pace. she is about to graduate her Post grad degree and works in medicine so I expect next year her workload to increase… unless we end up with a baby on the way 😅🤰 We are on the same page about eventually wanting a family and she likes the idea of the property. She also comes from a very wealthy family (that live overseas), but I kinda feel like being from a wealthy family she’s not that phased by money or investing. I want to gently encourage her to start long term investing so when I do talk about it with her, she understands the investments are one of the main income sources for early retirement. She knows I’m into investing but doesn’t know the extent of having several million dollars in various investments (shares, ETFs, property, superannuation, websites) and I’m a bit scared to reveal the situation lest it change our relationship somehow? Any advice? Anyone been in a similar situation with family or partners? For the record my family also does not know about my investments

Hi there, am curious about the differences between the three options for Autoinvest? How come 98% choose the lowest share and the rest choose the other options? What should be my ideal investment profile if am to choose either of the three. As an example I invest every fortnightly amounts less than 1k, what would be appropriate for me

Pretty darn new to all of this. have just set up an account and opted in for the round up feature but since doing so I have not seen a transaction from either the pearler account or from my bank account. how/where can I see these or have i not set it up right?. cheers, Jack

Hey folks - I see there is an option on the settings to auto invest any dividends automatically - as I have already set this up with computershare I assume I don't need to redo this on the platform - are there any benefits to this approach that I am missing ( or do some of the equities not have this capability? )

I have ACDC and ROBO in my autoinvest 'portfolio', one up 7% other down 17%. Recently heard commentary on thematic ETFs being overly hyped on launch, then drop to a more reasonable value and from there taking investors who bought the hype to wait years to actually see any growth. The money was to be made early before the general public were aware, before that demand caused the creation of the ETFs to satisfy demand. Should I be allocating new money elsewhere and watching these until they seem to start rising again possibly in a few years?

Hi everyone, I have questions about dividends and share registries. It was my first time to buy some Australian stock a few months ago. What should I do if I have not received any letter from the mail. I have no idea about my SRN/HIN number. Can I still receive dividends in the future if I don't know my SRN/HIN number? If yes, would I receive my dividend through my bank account in Pearler?

I have done some basic research but I cannot seem to find a direct answer about whether my funds are insured or if there is some sort of guarantee for individuals investing through Pearler: I understand that "The Australian Government guarantees up to $250 000 per account holder per authorised deposit-taking institution (ADI)" but this does not apply to Pearler (or other stock investment accounts as I understand it), correct? I also get that Pearler is CHESS sponsored but this does not guarantee me ownership/access over my investment, say, if the company became insolvent? Any help appreciated, thank you in advance!

The question is regarding the W8-BEN tax form and a VDHG portfolio. Checking Computershare it doesn't look like I need to complete the form but I'd rather be safe than sorry and ask the pearler community if it's required. I believe that VDHG is domiciled in Australia so even though it has US companies in the ETF I don't need to submit one. is this correct?

Hey pearlers, Another dumb question that you have heard a million times, I'm sure! but related to DRP, if in (settings > share settings and dividends > and flicked dividends payments enabled). Will this feature grab all dividends from my holdings and re-invest into my shares?? Sorry it sounds self-explanatory but just was curious on how this worked. Thankyou!

Hi, I'm wondering when is the best time to do a portfolio rebalance? I have recently started investing on Pearler and I noticed all of my most recent investment went straight into A200 which currently takes up 35% of my allocation however I thought it would be evenly distributed or at least some would go into my VEU allocation as it makes up 25% and its currently cheaper than A200? Thanks!
